INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 6 Tbl butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbl milk
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg

Butter Icing

  • 2 1/2 Tbl soft butter
  •  1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbl heavy whipping crea
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla

INSTRUCTION FOR COOKIES:

  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt
  • Beat butter, shortening for 30 seconds
  • Add sugar and beat until fluffy
  • Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat well
  • Add dry ingredients to mix and beat again
  • Cover and chill
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes
  • Make about 36 – 48 cookies

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ICING:

  • Blend butter and sugar
  • Stir in cream and vanilla until smooth
  • Make enough icing for 4 dozen
